Whether supporting armed forces operations, aiding civilian populations in crisis zones, or providing shelter for refugees and people experiencing homelessness, our modular buildings meet multifaceted challenges.
Project Descriptions:
#1. Maui Wildfire Response, August 2023: We responded to the tragic wildfires in Lahaina, Maui to rapidly provide 160 of our modular, foldable housing units to people who lost their homes. Working with global NGOs, local nonprofits, private businesses, government officials and agencies we were able to create the Ohana Hope Village that features a fully donated solar micro-grid to power the homes, donated furniture, HVAC, private bathrooms, showers, and kitchenettes, and covered lanai’s.
Our first units arrived just 8 days after the fires due to the extraordinary efforts of Hungarian Government and NATO to arrange a C-17 to provide a heavy airlift to transport our units to Maui.
The goal of this response was to provide not just immediate, rapid rehousing, but also to provide a medium-term housing solution for the victims of this tragedy that allows families to live rent-free for up to 3 years while getting back on their feet.
Example #2: Ukraine, March 2022 – We were incredibly proud to be able to showcase our values and capabilities during the crisis in Ukraine when, on the second day after the outbreak of war, we supported the work of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service by installing warming and information units on the Hungarian-Ukrainian border. Since that time over the last two years we have built a kindergarten, refugee housing, and medical aid and ambulance station in Bucha.
#3: Uganda Medical Aid Stations, Oct 2022 & Jan 2024 – We worked with the World Health Organization (WHO) in October 2022 to build Mobile Medical Aid Stations in Uganda. In January of 2024 more of our units arrived in Uganda as part of another Medical Aid station buildout alongside LIDAR. The goal of these efforts was to provide critically needed hospital and lab space for people desperately in need of safe, sanitary care facilities.
