Dogus Construction

Dogus Construction was established in 1951 as the first company of the Dogus Group, one of the leading groups in Türkiye. The Dogus Group generates USD 6 billion in annual turnover through its 300+ companies, employing over 21,000 people in 33 countries. The Group operates in seven main business lines: Construction, Automotive, Media, Hospitality & Retail, Technology, Energy, and Real Estate.

Dogus Construction and Trade Inc. is considered as a world-class leader in the construction sector, having completed over 250 mega-infrastructure and superstructure projects with a total value of USD 32 billion. It has operated within joint ventures and consortiums with many international companies in 22 countries across Türkiye, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Dogus Construction focuses on seven main segments:

  1. Tunnel works (NATM & TBM tunneling)
  2. Railways (Metros, LRT Systems, Conventional & High-Speed Railways)
  3. Motorways & Bridges
  4. Energy (Dams & Hydro Electric Power Plants)
  5. Marine & Geotechnical Works (Ports, Marine Civil Works, Geotechnical Works)
  6. Environmental Projects (Water Treatment Facilities, Pipelines, Hydro Projects)
  7. Superstructures (Industrial Facilities, Airports, Hospitals, etc.)

Dogus Construction’s diverse project portfolio includes 1,580 km of roads, 49 km of bridges and viaducts, over 385 km of subways, railways, and tunnels, and 21 dams and hydroelectric power plants. Dogus also performed more than 3.5 million m² of building construction including airports, industrial facilities, high-rise buildings, hotels & resorts, sports complexes, and residential units worldwide.

Dogus has been active in Ukraine for 20 years. Having completed large-scale projects with EBRD, JICA and Deutchebank Finance (Including Boryspil Airport International Terminal and Extension), Doğuş was executing the Kremenchug Cable Stay Bridge project once the war started.

When the large-scale war started on February 24, 2022, the company promptly evacuated all personnel, including the families of its Ukrainian staff, to Istanbul. Approximately 100 people were accommodated in company hotels and residences, with living expenses covered. Some of those individuals continue to be hosted in Istanbul.

For employees who chose to stay in Ukraine, Dogus ensured the continuity of their salaries, despite the suspension of work activities during the initial months of the war. In 2022, the company hosted around 50 Ukrainian engineers in Istanbul for strategic projects, providing them with a comprehensive training program at one of its construction sites.

Despite the ongoing war, Dogus Construction remains operational in Ukraine, focusing on the reconstruction of destroyed bridges. These pilot projects are supported by the UK Export Finance, highlighting Dogus’s commitment to aiding Ukraine’s recovery and development.

Dogus Construction’s unwavering dedication to excellence, safety, and sustainability, combined with its proactive support for Ukraine, underscores the company’s leadership and humanitarian values in the global construction sector.
